A law dated 5 November 2023 amends article X.49 of the Code of Economic Law, which set the limitation period at one year for all actions relating to a contract of carriage of passengers.
This period will now be two years.
It applies in particular to claims by passengers against airlines under European Regulation 261/2004 (delays, cancellations and overbooking).
The new provision comes into force on 21 December 2023.
